IMPORTANT NOTICE
From 1 July, the new QCTO qualifications will replace these SAQA unit standards.
QCTO qualifications are generally more expensive and take longer to complete.
Learners are strongly encouraged to complete the SAQA unit standard route before the enrolment cut-off date.
DURATION
ZOOM (Blended Learning) – ±2–3 days online, with scheduled live sessions facilitated by an experienced facilitator.
eLearning – Fully online and self-paced. You can start, pause, and resume at any time.
Learning is mainly video-based with structured activities and assignments.
When completed part-time (e.g. evenings), most learners complete this programme within 5–7 days.
CERTIFICATE | SETA STATEMENT OF RESULTS
TrainYouCan continuously submits verification requests to the ETDP SETA.
Turnaround times depend on ETDP SETA availability and may range from 6 weeks to 4 months.

(ETDP SETA) Accredited Training Network and its members are committed to complying with all ETQA requirements as stipulated by SAQA.
This combined programme equips learners with practical skills to guide learners through the learning process and to
support learners in managing their learning experiences. It is ideal for facilitators, coaches, mentors, workplace supervisors,
skills programme support staff, and anyone involved in learner development.
These unit standards focus on learner-centred support: setting learners up for success, clarifying expectations, monitoring progress,
addressing barriers, and ensuring learners stay engaged and on track until completion.
The qualifying learner is capable of:
- Explaining learning programmes, outcomes, and expectations to learners clearly;
- Guiding learners through activities, timelines, and assessment requirements;
- Supporting learners to manage challenges such as motivation, time management, and study barriers;
- Monitoring learner progress and identifying learning difficulties early;
- Providing feedback and referrals where additional support is required;
- Contributing to improved learning results and learner retention.
COURSE SUMMARY
In particular, people credited with these unit standards are able to:
- Guide learners effectively by clarifying expectations, learning outcomes, and assessment evidence requirements.
- Assist and support learners to manage their learning experiences, including time management, motivation, and learning barriers.
- Work effectively with others in training teams and workplace learning environments to support learner achievement.
- Organise and manage oneself responsibly by planning learner support activities and maintaining accurate support records.
- Collect and evaluate information relating to learner needs, progress, and performance to guide interventions.
- Communicate clearly using oral, written, and digital methods to guide learners and provide feedback.
- Use technology to support learning, learner engagement, and progress tracking.
Note: Any person wishing to offer training or learner support services as an accredited individual,
company, or training provider may only do so with a valid SOR (Statement of Results) issued by the ETDP SETA.
No other certificate may be used, even if it reflects the same unit standards.
ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Learners must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer literacy is recommended for online learning.
Basically, you must be able to read and write in English!
METHODS OF LEARNING
This course is offered through:
- eLearning – Self-paced online learning with videos, guided activities, and assignment-based evidence submission.
Ideal for learners who need flexibility. - ZOOM (Blended Learning) – Live online sessions with a facilitator on scheduled dates, combined with independent
learning and portfolio submission between sessions.
How eLearning works: You receive access to the learning platform, work through videos and activities at your own pace,
and submit your evidence online for assessment and feedback.
How ZOOM blended learning works: You attend scheduled interactive online sessions with a facilitator,
then complete learning activities and assignments independently between sessions.
