DURATION
ZOOM (Blended Learning) – ±2 days online, with scheduled live sessions facilitated by an experienced facilitator.
eLearning – Fully online and self-paced. You may start, pause, and resume at any time.
Learning is primarily video-based with structured activities and assignment submissions.
When completed part-time, most learners complete this programme within 5–7 days.
CERTIFICATE | SETA STATEMENT OF RESULTS
TrainYouCan continuously submits verification requests to the ETDP SETA.
Turnaround times depend on ETDP SETA availability and may range from 6 weeks to 4 months.

This unit standard equips learners with the skills to evaluate learning interventions in a structured,
objective, and outcomes-based manner. It is essential for ensuring that training programmes are effective,
relevant, and aligned to organisational and learner needs.
The course focuses on evaluating learning design, delivery, learner performance, and impact,
enabling practitioners to make evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
The qualifying learner is capable of:
- Planning and preparing for the evaluation of learning interventions;
- Collecting relevant evaluation data from multiple sources;
- Analysing learning effectiveness and learner performance;
- Evaluating alignment between learning outcomes, delivery, and assessment;
- Reporting evaluation findings and recommendations;
- Contributing to continuous improvement of learning programmes.
COURSE SUMMARY
In particular, people credited with this unit standard are able to:
- Evaluate learning interventions against planned outcomes, learner needs, and organisational objectives.
- Collect and analyse data using feedback tools, learner results, observations, and reports.
- Identify strengths and gaps in learning design, facilitation, and assessment.
- Communicate findings effectively through structured evaluation reports.
- Use technology to gather, analyse, and present evaluation data.
- Understand learning as part of an interrelated system linking learners, facilitators, organisations, and outcomes.
Note: Any person wishing to offer accredited training or evaluation services may only do so with a valid
SOR (Statement of Results) issued by the ETDP SETA.
No other certificate may be used, even if it reflects the same unit standard.
ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Learners must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Experience in training, facilitation, HR, or learning development is recommended.
- Basic computer literacy is required for online learning.
Basically, you must be able to read and write in English!
METHODS OF LEARNING
This course is offered through:
- eLearning – Self-paced online learning with videos, examples, and assignment-based evidence submission.
Ideal for learners who require flexibility. - ZOOM (Blended Learning) – Live online sessions with a facilitator on scheduled dates, combined with
independent evaluation activities and portfolio submission between sessions.
How eLearning works: You receive access to the learning platform, complete evaluation activities at your own pace,
and submit evidence online for assessment and feedback.
How ZOOM blended learning works: You attend scheduled interactive sessions where the facilitator guides you
through evaluation methods, followed by independent work and submission between sessions.
