Learners are encouraged to complete the SAQA unit standard route before the enrolment cut-off date.
DURATION
ZOOM (Blended Learning) – ±2½ days online, connecting with a facilitator on specific scheduled dates.
eLearning – Fully online and self-paced. You may start, pause, and resume at any time.
Learning mainly involves watching videos and completing assignments in your own time.
When completed part-time (e.g. evenings), most learners finish within 5–7 days.
CERTIFICATE | SETA STATEMENT OF RESULTS
TrainYouCan continuously submits verification requests to the ETDP SETA.
The turnaround time depends on SETA availability and may range from 6 weeks to 4 months.

This unit standard supports learners who assist and support others to manage their learning experiences effectively.
It is particularly valuable in education, training, project-based environments, community development initiatives,
and organisations where structured learner support is required.
Learners credited with this unit standard are typically involved in project teams, training environments,
educational support roles, or community-based development initiatives.
The qualifying learner is capable of:
- Supporting learners to understand and manage their learning processes;
- Monitoring learner progress and identifying challenges;
- Providing guidance, motivation, and appropriate learning support;
- Reporting on learner progress and challenges;
- Contributing to improved learner performance and project outcomes.
COURSE SUMMARY
In particular, people credited with this unit standard are able to:
- Identify and solve problems by monitoring learner progress and addressing barriers to effective learning.
- Work effectively with others as part of a team supporting learners within projects or learning environments.
- Organise and manage oneself by maintaining fairness, transparency, and accountability in learner support activities.
- Collect and organise information related to learner performance, challenges, and progress.
- Communicate effectively when reporting progress, providing feedback, and supporting learners.
- Use technology for information gathering, communication, and reporting.
- Understand learning as part of an interrelated system, recognising how learner support contributes to organisational,
social, and economic development.
Note: Any person who wishes to offer services as an accredited individual, company, or training provider
may only do so with a valid SOR (Statement of Results) issued by the ETDP SETA.
No other certificate may be used, even if it reflects the same unit standard.
ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Learners must demonstrate competence in Communication and Mathematics at NQF Level 3 or equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with common software applications are recommended.
Basically, you must be able to read and write in English!
METHODS OF LEARNING
This course is offered through:
- eLearning – Self-paced online learning with videos, activities, and assignment-based evidence submission.
Ideal for learners who need flexibility. - ZOOM (Blended Learning) – Online sessions on scheduled dates with a facilitator, combined with independent
assignment completion and portfolio submission.
How eLearning works: You receive access to the learning platform and complete the course at your own pace,
submitting evidence online for assessment and feedback.
How ZOOM blended learning works: You attend scheduled online sessions for guidance and support, then complete
learning activities and assignments independently between sessions.
